THE STORY OF THEIR SUCCESS.
William G. Alexander
William G. Alexander, who manages the local trade of the Central Milling
Company, was born at St. Louis, Missouri, February 25, 1867. Twelve years ago he
removed with his parents to San Jose and entered the High School, from which he
graduated in 1883, afterward attending the University. His first business
experience was with A. A. Sage, formerly a well-known grocer of this city, and
since that time he has occupied various responsible position, being at one time
connected with the Mercury. Mr. Alexander opened the books for the Central
Milling Company at the time of its organization in 1887, and has since been a
confidential employee of the corporation. He has entire charge of the city
trade, and the business of the adjoining territory, and by his careful attention
to the wants of his customers and his uniform courtesy to all those with whom he
comes in contact, he has done much toward building up the splendid business of
the City Mills. Mr. Alexander was married to Miss Edith Cory, daughter of Dr.
Benjamin Cory, in December 1890. He has the esteem and confidence of a large
circle of prominent business men, and his future prospects are most flattering.
