Associated in the real estate business with Joseph H. Rucker is Luis L. Arguello,
a son of Jose Ramon Arguello, and grandson of the first Governor of Upper and
Lower California under the Mexican rule. Mr. Arguello was born at Santa Clara,
July 23, 1867, and has spent most of his life under the blue skies of
California. He was educated at the Santa Clara College, and St. Mary's College,
San Francisco. Upon attaining his majority he came into a substantial fortune,
his share of his father's estate. In 1888 Mr. Arguello was united in marriage to
Miss Camilla M. Ecker of San Francisco and Has since made his home at the corner
of Hensley avenue and Third street. A picture of his charming house appears in
this issue. One child, a lovely child of 2 years, contributes largely to Mr.
Arguello's felicity. In the year just past, he came the junior member of J. H.
Rucker & Co., and by the new capital thus introduced, and by his extensive and
valuable connections, has added largely to its strength. Mr. Arguello has the
most flattering prospects of life before him, and his many friends wish him
every success in his new business relationships.
