BURNETT (Republican) was born in the State of Oregon, April 9, 1856, but when two years of age he came with his parents to California. He received a collegiate education and for a number of years he taught in the public schools of Sonoma County. While teaching he took up the study of the law and he was admitted to the bar in January, 1887. In 1888 he was elected District Attorney of Sonoma County and reelected in 1890. In 1896 he was elected Judge of the Superior Court of that county and reelected in 1902. On November 6, 1996, he was elected Associate Justice of the District Court of Appeal, Third District, and allotted the four-year term; and at the general election held November 8, 1910, he was reelected for the full term of twelve years.
