HENSHAW (Republican) was born in Illinois, May 24, 1858; he arrived in California in 1873 and graduated from the University of California in 1879; was admitted to practice law in 1880; served as Justice of the Peace in the city of Oakland, and was elected Judge of the Superior Court of Alameda County in 1890; resigned December 8, 1894; elected Associate Justice of the Supreme Court in 1894 and reelected November 6, 1906.
