CHARLES DAVID MARX (Republican) was born at Toledo, Ohio, October 10, 1857; educated in the public schools of Toledo, Cornell University, and Karlsruhe (Germany) Polytechnic. Practicing civil engineer since 1881 and professor of civil engineering since 1884; Cornell University 1884-1890; University of Wisconsin 1890-1891; Stanford University 1891 to date.
