(Republican) was born at Damascus, Placer County, California, February 7, 1857; he was educated in the public schools of his native State, taking a commercial course in the Pacific Business College, San Francisco, afterward (1875-1880) associated with the Union Iron Works. From 1887 to 1910 was superintendent of Hidden Treasure and May Flower Gravel Mining companies, and Morning Star Mining Company, all of Placer County. Representative in the California Legislature, thirty-second session. Presidential Elector 1900. Trustee of California State Mining Bureau 1903-10. President Board of Trustees 1908-10.
