Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.  
M. C. SLOSS (Republican) was born at New York City, February 28, 1869, but was 
brought to this State in 1872; he received his education in the San Francisco 
public schools, in Belmont School, in Harvard College, and in the Harvard Law 
School; returning to San Francisco he took up his profession as a lawyer, and in 
1900 was elected Judge of the Superior Court; on February 1, 1906, he was 
appointed to take the place of Walter Van Dyke, deceased, as Associate Justice 
of the Supreme Court; on November 6, 1906, he was regularly elected for the 
remainder of the unexpired term of Justice Van Dyke, ending January, 1911. On 
November 8, 1910, he was reelected for a full term of twelve years from January, 
1911.
