WALKER (Republican) was born in Santa Rosa, California, September 21, 1874, and educated in the public schools of this State; he made his home in Los Gatos, Santa Clara County, engaged for a time in the newspaper printing business, and then became assistant postmaster at San Jose. He is a journalist by profession; in November of 1900 he was elected Member of the Assembly from Santa Clara County, and reelected in 1902; elected State Senator from the Twenty-seventh District, November 6, 1906, to fill out the unexpired term of Eli Wright, expelled from the Senate; on November 3, 1908, he was reelected for the full term.
