M.
F. HULL
M. F. Hull, of Red Bluff, who is filling the office of sheriff,
was born November 4, 1880, in a district then a part of Colusa county but now
included within the borders of Glenn county. He is a son of Daniel Mosier and
Eunice (Osborn) Hull, who are mentioned at length on another page of this work.
He acquired his education in the public schools and after his textbooks were
laid aside he engaged in ranching and stock raising, thus continuing for
fifteen years. He then removed to Red Bluff, where for ten years he
successfully conducted a transfer business. Later he became a candidate for the
office of sheriff, to which he was elected in 1926, assuming the duties of the
position on the 4th of January, 1927. He has since served in this capacity and
manifests neither fear nor favor in meeting the tasks incumbent upon him. He is
again a candidate for sheriff without opposition and has won the strong
endorsement of the law-abiding citizens of Tehama county.
Mr. Hull owns and occupies an attractive home at 356 Main street,
Red Bluff. Fraternally he is an Elk, belonging to Red Bluff Lodge, No. 1250,
which he recently joined. Hunting and fishing are his favorite forms of
recreation and to these he turns when his duties permit, but he allows nothing
to interfere with the faithful performance of the work of the office, being at
all times loyal to the trust reposed in him.
