Rev. Frank Bannon had started a Catholic Mission on the Kern River in 1884. In about 1907 the Rev Joseph Wanner of St Malachey’s traveled 85 miles to hold services at the Jesus Ranch and the Onyx Rancheria. Children and converts were baptized in Miranda’s irrigation ditch. These Baptismal Records consist of type written pages that were transcribed from the original records by a member of the church at an unknown date. They are bound in several volumes and range in years from 1884 to 1922. They are mostly regarding the Miranda and allied Families. My notes are added in brackets..
