I can find no other reference to it under that name nor can I fing any other reference to it under any name. It is very strange. The WHY of it is almost as strange as the WHAT of it. There are these apparent graves located on a hogback not more than a quarter of a mile above the produce check station on I-15 at Yermo. There is one grave from the head of a very large Mormon family, and at least four members of the WILLIAMS family, although there seems to be an effort to hide that fact. We have Thomas O. and Barbara A Williams. In the 1910 US census there are two “step” children. By 1920 the step children are gone and a grandson, Harry A. appears. In 1926 mother, Barbara has passed away and by 1930 the grieving spouse, Thomas has remarried Delila, a young thing 15 years his junior. Living with them now is Thomas’ son, Harry A. The dates shown on the headstones for Thomas and Barbara do not tally with the dates on the California Death Index. There is no Harry A Williams born in 1914 who died in 1996 on the CADI or the SSDI. According to the grave markers, Harry A is sharing mother, Barbara’s grave. Now it really gets interesting. Since the date of the Interment.net data, a new grave has appeared. On this grave is a marker showing this grave is shared by Marianne Michelle KOPROWSKI who died in 2004 and her loving husband, Harry ATWOOD. who died in 1996. I actually found Harry ATWOOD on the CABI and that date is correct, Mother’s Maiden Name is TA DA!!!, WILLIAMS, but no sign of him in the CADI or the SSDI. Nor is there any sign of Marianne Michelle KOPROWSKI in the CABI but VOILA!!! An Obituary on Marianne KOPROWSKI WILLIAMS in Salt Lake City. She was married to Harry A WILLIAMS. The dawn begins to break. HARRY ATWOOD WILLIAMS Except, how (why?) did she get to Yermo? Couldn’t get her past those shrewd inspectors at the produce station? Did Harry move from mom’s place to dear ol’ Marianne’s? Who was Harry’s mom? Pauline whatever her name was? Barbara? None of the above? Who is ATWOOD? So many mysteries and so little time. Obit: Marianne Koprowski Williams Beloved Sister, Aunt, Godmother, Friend Marianne Koprowski Willliams passed away at her home on September 2, 2004 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 8, 1930 in Fargniers, France to Jean and Marianne Koprowski. She married Andre Decoudun in 1947. They later divorced in 1970. In 1995 she married her longtime companion, Harry A. Williams. He preceded her in death in 1996. After moving to Salt Lake City in 1955 she worked first as an elevator operator then as a hostess in the Coffee Shop at the Hotel Utah for 18 years. She then enjoyed a distinguished career as a sales representative for Castletons, ZCMI and Weinstocks. She loved gardening, knitting slippers for friends and family, baking and French cooking. Christmas was her favorite time of year. Her house was always festively and beautifully decorated inside and out. She would bake all sorts of goodies that she loved to share with friends, neighbors and loved ones. She enjoyed listening to French music, the Big Band era and classical music. She loved spending time with her "adopted grandson," Drew, who will miss her terribly. She was a lady, always impeccable in her appearance. She is survived by her sisters; Wanda DiLecce, her husband and children in France; Genevieve Colyn; her son Gilles in Utah and her daughter, Marie-Pierre Sutton and her husband, Ward, of Walnut Creek, CA. All of whom will greatly miss her. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at St. Olaf's Catholic Church, 276 E. 1700 So., Bountiful. A reception at the church will immediately follow. The family wishes to give special thanks to VistaCare Hospice nurses, aides and Chaplain Claude Newby for their loving care and support in her final days. They also would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Regina Klein and her staff at the Utah Cancer Specialists for their wonderful care and many kindnesses. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
