Ukiah City Press, 9 December 1881. REDWOOD VALLEY, Dec. 19th, 1881. To the Editors of the Dispatch and Democrat:...There was a burial at the graveyard, at the school-house, last week – Calvin Hansard, aged sixty-five years, and a native of Tennessee. He had been in bad health for years. His father, John Hansard, now in his eighty-ninth year, is living in this valley, and is in excellent health and pretty stout, which should be a strong point in favor of the healthfulness of our valley.
