San Diego Union: April 30, 1900 GRAND ARMY ENCAMPMENT Department of California Will Meet at San Luis Obispo The thirty-third department encampment of the Grand Army will be held this year at San Luis Obispo, begining tomorrow. The Woman's Relief corps and the Ladies of the Grand Army will hold their annual conventions at the same time and place. The people of San Luis Obispo are making ample preperations for the reception and entertainment of the guests, and the city will look tis very best on the occation. The following is part of the programme which has been outlined; Monday, April 30, 8 p. m., reception at the pavilion; Tuesday, May 1, 10:30 a. m., opening session of encampment; 1:30 p. m. grand parade and review; Wednesday, business sessions, with a consert at 5 p. m. and entertainment at the pavilion at 9 p. m.; Thursday, 9 a. m., excursion and barbecue, ball at Romona Hall in the evening; Friday, business session all day and camp fire in the evening; The election for department officers will probably be held on Wednesday, and promises to be quite lively, especially for the office of department commander between Henry C. dibble of San Francisco, Frank Miller of Sacramento, A. J. Bell of Ventura and Col. J. G. Glesting of San Francisco. The following are the departmental officers: Commander, A. F. Dill, San Diego; senior vice departmental commander, Henry C. Dibble, San Francisco; junior vice departmental commander, George M. Mott, Sacramento; medical director, L. T. Holland, Los Angeles; Chaplain, Rev. Will A. Knighten, Los Angeles; assistant adjutant and quartermaster-general, T. C. Masteller, San Francisco; inspector, David G. Mitchell, Riverside; Judge advocate, M. A. Luce, San Diego; chief mustering officer, H Fairbanks, Santa Anna.
