He was born in the Philippines on June 23, 1942. He immigrated to Hawaii with his family and in April 1975 moved to California City where he raised his family. He started work at the Painted Pony for one year and then worked at Creative Accents for 1 7 years. His fondness for greenery is evident by the lush plants that he has grown around the house. In addition to his gardening, he shared his life with various household pets that he had and so enjoyed. Florentine is survived by his wife Rose S. Abalos of California City; children John, Jay, and Judy; his parents Elpidio and Franscisca Abalos of Honolulu, Hawaii; 3 brothers Clemente, Roger, and Doming of Honolulu, Hawaii; 3 sisters Carol Paderes, Merlinda Ishii, and Hermlnia Patao of Honolulu, Hawaii. Services were held Tuesday, October 29, 1996 in Mojave at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Fr. Leslie F. Shenoy officiating.
