All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. Source Unknown; Date Unknown Graydon "Rosy" Aldred, long time North Edwards resident, passed away on December 19, 1998. Rosy was born July 29, 1915 in Ceylon, Saskatchewan. He attended school there then his family moved to Pasadena, CA. While living in Pasadena, he met and married Beulah Raun in 1940. In 1943, Rosy joined the U.S. Army where he served from 1943-1946. He served in the South Pacific during his enlistment. Rosy was assigned to Combat Infantry. He received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Philippines Liberation Ribbon-with 2 bronze stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart. Rosy and Beulah came to Edwards Air Force Base in 1951, and the Aldreds moved to Aerial Acres in 1964. He worked on the base, then on the Rocket Site. He retired from civil service in 1980. The Aerial Acres Water Company was one of the many projects he worked with to make sure the Aerial Acres residents had good water available to them. Rosy is survived by his wife, Beulah and a brother, Elwood Aldred. Memorial services were held on January 2, 1999 at the Calvary Chapel, North Edwards.
