Gene Howard Alexander, husband of Mrs. Dorothy Alexander, died at 5:50 p.m. in the Lancaster Community Hospital on Friday, April 24, 1953. His death resulted from an auto collision at 60th east and H Sts. east of Lancaster at 2:05 p.m. the same day. Gene was accompanied by his wife Dorothy, baby daughter Arlene Rosella and a friend Mrs. Anna Marie Burton. The Alexander family lived in the trailer camp at Edwards, but formerly made their home in Mojave. Mrs. Alexander is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Harry Goulden who resides here. Mrs. Alexander suffered cuts on the hand and knee, while the baby was only bruised. Mrs. Burton, sustained 3 broken ribs, all were released from the hospital on Monday, April 27th. Driver of the other car was Frederick John Anderson, who was towing a small plaster mixer which was hit by the Alexander vehicle. Parents of Sgt. Alexander arrived in Lancaster from Detroit to make arrangements for the funeral, which will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 29 with Mumaw Funeral Home in charge.
