Source Unknown; Date Unknown ALSOP, JOHN CLARK (Memoriam) In loving memory of John Clark Alsop, "Al John" Sept. 9 1948 - Aug 23, 2006. John Clark Alsop "Al John" 57, passed away in Porterville, Ca August 23, 2006. He died during complications during surgery. John was born and raised in Denver, Colorado and was a graduate of South High School in Denver. During high school, he was an active member of the debate team, drama club and orchestra playing the violin. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1972 with an undergraduate degree in Economics and a Master's degree in Deaf Education. He accepted his first teaching position in Bakersfield, California and remained in the area until his passing. His tenure was highlighted by many grand experiences with many wonderful people. He was uniquely inquisitive individual who demonstrated many diversified interests and intellectual pursuits. Always caring, always kind, always generous. A man for all seasons! John is survived by his twin brother, James also of Grand Junction; two older brothers, Sherman Alsop of Denver, Daniel Alsop of Centennial, Colorado, and one younger sister Beverly Alsop of Denver. A memorial service has taken place in Glennville, CA where he spent the last 17 years. Internment in Colorado.
