Source Unknown; Date Unknown Barbara Jean Silvernail Arbuthnot, 62, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 5, 1935, passed away on March 12, 1998 in AV Hospital after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Mrs. Arbuthnot was a long-time resident of Rosamond and Mojave, taught swimming lessons in Rosamond for many years, helped in Cub Scouts, 4-H and with the youth in her church. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charles W. Arbuthnot, Sr. of Mojave; two brothers, Byron Silvernail of Minnesota and Robert Silvernail of Hesperia, CA; one son, Charles W. Arbuthnot, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA: three daughters, Jacque Hall of Ridgecrest, CA, Starla Jeppson of Boise, Idaho and Lisa Solokowski of Mojave; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a son, Alan Lance Arbuthnot in 1984. Memorial services were held on March 17, 1998 at the Mojave Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Funeral arrangements were by Stickel Mortuary and interment at East Kern Cemetery in Mojave.
