Source Unknown; 7 Sep 1950 Accident Claims Lives of Three Sudden death claimed three members of a wedding party en route to Las Vegas early Monday morning, when the car in which they were riding failed to negotiate a curve and rolled over. Fatally injured were Gerald R. Barneke, 26, Constable of Buttonwillow, Calif., Donald Archer, 24 of Bakersfield, fire engineer, K Co. Fire Dept., Minter Field, and William E. Foster, 21, Deputy Constable of Buttonwillow. Injured was Miss Rose Marie Kanapik of Bakersfield who was to have wed Mr. Foster. The accident occurred about 11 miles west of Mojave near the Cameron junction. The O'Donnell ambulance took Mr. Foster and Miss Kanapik to the Tehachapi hospital, where the young man succumbed. Miss Spanik was released and taken to her home in Bakersfield on Wednesday. Services for Donald Archer will be held at the Hopson Mortuary in Bakersfield on Thursday morning at 10:30. Wm. E. Foster's services will take place at the Payne and Son Funeral Home, Bakersfield, at 2:30 p.m., Thursday. Both men will be buried in the' Union City Cemetery. O'Donnell Funeral Home will conduct services for Gerald Barneke at the Payne and Son Funeral Home, Bakersfield, at 1 p.m. Thursday, and the body will be shipped to Albuquerque, N. M for burial.
