Source Unknown; Date Unknown Elma Rose Ballentine Born August 23, 1922 in Booneville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home in California City on Monday, March 10, 2003. Elma was a long-time resident of Mojave and had lived in California City for the past 10 years with her husband of 62 years, Jesse. She was active in the Emblem Club, and helped with the blood drive. Elma was one of Mojave's "Avon Ladies," for over 20 years. She was a member of the Mojave Community Church. Elma is survived by her husband Jesse, one sister Mary Wilhelm of Dinuba, California, and one brother Charles Chamberlin of Reedley, California; four children, Sandra Vesterby of California City, Sharon Ott, Jimmy Balentine, and Robert Balentine, all of Mojave, 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Private family services and interment.
