Source Unknown; Date Unknown Aug. 28, 1922 – Dec. 15, 2004 A funeral service was held on Friday, Dec. 17 at the Grace Fellowship Church for Melbourne Hudnall Barlow, 82, who passed away on Dec. 15 at his home in Tehachapi. Melbourne was born on Aug. 28, 1922 in Long Beach to Benjamin and Josephine Barlow. He married his wife of 62 years, Lillian Fletcher, on March 29, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nev. He served in the United States Army as part of the 160th Infantry Division during World War II. He was employed by S & W, a grocery supplier, as a warehouseman for 42 years. Melbourne loved football, especially the L.A. Rams and Raiders, and for many years, worked at the Los Angeles Coliseum during games. He was very active in the Boy Scouts and served as Scoutmaster. Melbourne and his wife moved to Tehachapi in 1990 to be near family. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed playing dominos, especially the game Mexican Train, with his church friends. Melbourne is survived by his wife, Lillian Barlow of Tehachapi; son, Mel Barlow and wife Carolyn of Alabama; daughter, Kathleen Vaughn and husband Daryl of Yorba Linda; nine grandchildren; sister, Arliene Robertson; and nephew, Victor Robertson and wife Tammy, all of Tehachapi. He was preceded in death by his son, David Barlow in 2004. Pastor Kyle Phillips officiated at the service. Interment followed at Tehachapi Public Cemetery, Westside. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
