Source Unknown; Date Unknown April 14, 1922 – July 22, 2004 A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 27, at 2 p.m. at the Tehachapi Public Cemetery, Eastside, for Edwin Arthur Bauman Sr., 82, who passed away on July 22 in Loma Linda. Edwin was born on April 14, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio to Christian and Louise Bauman. In 1949, he married Esther E. Neufeld in Las Vegas, Nev. That same year they moved to Tehachapi where he began working as a heavy equipment mechanic at Monolith Cement Company before retiring 28 years later. Edwin thoroughly enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was a very talented artist. As a hobby, he loved woodcarving and drawing.Edwin is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Esther Bauman of Tehachapi; son, Edwin Bauman Jr. and wife LeAnn of Winfield, Kan.; daughters, Shirley Bauman of Tehachapi, Marie Townsend and husband David of Sulfur, Okla. and Starlene Barrett and husband Gerald of Tehachapi; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 26, at the Wood Family Funeral Service Chapel. His son-in-law, Gerald Barrett, will officiate at the service.
