All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. Source Unknown; 24 Jan 1952 Navy Man In Fatal Accident Edwin Blackmarr, 23, U. S. N. Fairhaven Drive, Bakersfield, was instantly killed Friday at 4:20 p. m. when his car struck an Oil Fields Trucking Co., truck and trailer head on, on Highway 46, adjacent to the Monolith Portland Cement plant, Monolith. The truck was driven by Robert H. Brundage, 703 Arvin St., Bakersfield. Blackmarr's '46 Dodge was completely demolished from the impact and death was instantaneous. The driver of the truck was unhurt but damage to the truck was considerable. An investigation into the cause of the accident is being conducted by the State Highway Patrol.
