Leon Harlan Bourns was killed December 2, 1943, in the Mojave freight yards, 
having both legs severed accidentally by a freight train. Having no relatives 
he was buried in the Mojave cemetery with Rev. Floyd Bailey of the Congregational 
Church reading the service. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the O'Donnell 
Funeral Home.
