Source Unknown; Date Unknown Jeremy Stephen Bower, age 22, of California City, CA died Sunday, September 30,2001 in Indianapolis, IN. He was born at Cannon AFB, NM on April 24,1979. He graduated from Desert High School at Edwards AFB in June, 1997. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, in Cal City, a member of ROTC Detachment 320 at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA and a cheerleader at Tulane. He was majoring in mechanical engineering at Tulane and his goal was to be commissioned in the U.S. Air Force as a second Lieutenant. Survivors include his mother, Deborah Bower of California City, father Randy Bower of Denver, CO; brothers Michael Bower of Scott AFB, IL and Jason Bower of California City; paternal grandparents, Bob and Gail Bower of Ft. Myers, FL and Jeanne Bower of Belfast, ME; maternal grandparents Herb Huelsman of Crestview, FL and Marge Huelsman of Shalimar, FL. A funeral Mass was held for Jeremy at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fort Walton Beach. FL on October 5, 2001. He was buried at Beal Memorial Cemetery, also in Fort Walton Beach, next to his uncle, who also died at the age of 22. There will be a memorial service for Jeremy at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in California City on Monday, October 22, 2001 at 6 p.m. with a reception in the church a hall afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Hope Lodge Memorial Program, 1795 West 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 46260, or to the American Cancer Society.
