Source Unknown; 01 Sep 1938 Edmund J Bowers, 69 year old prospector of Rosamond died at Lancaster Hospital Monday night as the result of injuries sustained when he was struck by a car as he was standing near the entrance to his own driveway on highway 6. The car, driven by Robert N. Cox of Los Angeles, is said to have got out of control on the wet pavement and swerved across the road striking the aged man. He was taken to the hospital by a passing motorist, after Cox stopped to render aid. Mr. Bowers had made many friends during 15 years residence in Rosamond who regret his passing.
