Mojave Desert News; Date Unknown DESERT NEWS STAFF REPORT ROSAMOND — Funeral services were held Wednesday in Mojave for Denzel Eugene Cameron, who passed away October 22, 2004 in a Lancaster hospital. In an age of microchips and space travel, Mr. Cameron devoted his life and energies to preserving the skills that helped move Americans in an earlier time. Living on a small ranch along Highway 14 south of Backus Road, he and friends could sometimes be seen riding a buckboard as traffic sped by on the adjoining freeway, a living reminder of life in a more peaceful, uncomplicated age. He applied his skills shoeing horses, blacksmithing, training horses and mules to help others with similar interests, and to adding authenticity to numerous motion picture productions. Mr. Cameron was born December 30, 1928, in Princeton, Minnesota. He leaves his wife of 50 years, Geraldine, sons Willliam, of Carmel Valley; Donald, of Rosamond, and Loren, of Mahenen, Minnesota; and daughters Tamara, of Saugus, and Evelyn, of Valencia. Mr. Cameron is also survived by sisters Roberta Morava and Florence Kropp, and brother Donald, all of Oregon. Services were conducted by members of Mr. Cameron’s family in the Stickel Mortuary Chapel in Mojave.
