Source Unknown; Date Unknown Willie "Kay" Bridgeman Carroll, 63, a long time resident of California City, CA passed away in Lancaster, CA on June 14, 2001 from complications of diabetes. She was born May 22, 1938 in Loveland, CO. Kay was a gifted and talented artist, athlete and seamstress. She was a librarian in North Edwards for 11 years and served as Postmaster for six years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Girls Scouts, California City Players Club playing Rose in Stepping Sisters. Kay recently graduated receiving her Certificate in Computers from Cerro Coso College. She loved crossword puzzles, reading and doll collecting. She was predeceased by her mother Wilma Rosetta Bridgeman in 1970. She is survived by her loving family, husband Robert J. Carroll of California City, CA; father Kenneth Bridgeman of Bakersfield, CA; daughters, Trelby Geoffray of Tehachapi, CA, Robyn Jones of Cantil, CA and Paris Byington of Bakersfiejd, CA; brothers, Jim Bridgeman and Glenn Bridgeman of Porterville, CA; nine grandchildren, Chance, stationed in Germany with the Air Force, Destiny, Skye, Autumn, Levetica, stationed in Mississippi with the Air Force, Damen, Jared, Scan, and Seth, all of California; five great-grandchildren, Mykala (Grandma's special "Baby Girl"), Devin and Christopher Jr., and two unborn and lifetime best friend, Sally Kendall of Mojave, CA. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2001 at 11 a.m., Stickel Mortuary, 2201 Inyo Street, Mojave, CA. Services to be conducted by Fr. John Gracey. There will be a gathering at 21649 Shaw Street, California City at 2 p.m. after the services. The family requests donations be made in lieu of flowers to the National Diabetes Association.
