Source Unknown; 18 Jun 1942 "Killed in Action" This tersely worded message was received in Mojave on Tuesday evening by Mrs. Alice Mae Lahmon Catanach, wife of Staff. Sergt. Robert Catanach, of 320 K street, 22, who has served 2 years in the army and who left for foreign service on January 11, 1942, was received from the government following their usual plan of notifying the next of kin when a fatality occurs in the armed forces. Sergeant Catanach was the son of Mr. Frank Catanach of Santa Fe, New Mexico and the son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Lahmon of Mojave, and is reported to have been killed in action at Karachi, India, on June 7, 1942. He leaves besides his wife, two brothers, a sister and his father all of Santa Fe, and his parents-in- law Mr. and Mrs. A, C. Lahmon of Mojave.
