Alma Chambers, 55, passed away Tuesday evening at the White Memorial Hospital in 
Los Angeles. She was born August 29, 1901.
Mrs. Chambers is survived by her husband, Cecil, a son, Harold J. Chambers, three 
brothers and a sister. Also, parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Scoggins of San Diego.
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Chambers came to Mojave in 1947 when they bought Bandhauer’s 
Market on J Street, now known as Sierra Highway. Since then a new market was built 
at Panamint and K streets where Chamber’s Market now stands.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 21, at 2:00 p.m. with the O’Donnell 
Funeral Home in charge.
The store will be closed all day (Thursday) in memory of Mrs. Cecil Chambers.
