Source Unknown; Date Unknown Oct. 9, 1919 - Dec. 10, 1998 Stallion Springs resident John Allen Chambers, 79, passed away suddenly on December 10. John was born October 9, 1919 in Battiest, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. For many years he lived and worked in the Taft area, retiring from Pacific Performance. About 13 years ago he moved to the Stallion Springs area where he enjoyed the beautiful mountain scenery. He and his wife spent much of their leisure time traveling in their fifth wheel trailer. Mr. Chambers is survived by his wife, Beth Chambers of Stallion Springs; sons, Gene Chambers of Taft, Bill Chambers of Oklahoma, Stan Chambers of Fellows, Dale Chambers of Taft and Michael Chambers of Oklahoma; daughters, Lavon Murray and Katherine Dabs, both of Taft; 19 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Willie Stout of Taft; and brother, Jonathan E. Chambers of Taft. Wood Family Funeral Service handled the cremation arrangements.
