Source Unknown; Date Unknown Nov. 13, 1940 – April 17, 2005 Raymond Chavez was born on Nov. 13, 1940, in Redondo Beach to Ramon and Juanita Chavez and passed away on Sunday, April 17, in Bakersfield with his loving family around him. Ray was a member of the Laborers’ Union for 27 years and he spent 17 years doing infrastructure construction and 10 years as board member and field agent representing his fellow laborers. He was an active member of Palmdale Lions Club. He and his wife Pam were married for 36 years and enjoyed working on their home in Stallion Springs after he retired. Ray will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Ray is survived by his wife of 36 years, Pamela Chavez; daughters, Christine Chavez, Alycia Oh, Shannon Markosian and Renia Clemmons; son, Ramon Chavez III; siblings, David Chavez, Ralph Chavez, Arthur Chavez, and Rebecca Trujillo; grandchildren, Taylor, Cathryne, Anna, Laurel, Emily and Amanda; great- granddaughter, Cecilia; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Chavez and Juanita Diaz. A memorial service was held Friday, April 22 at the Wood Family Funeral Service Chapel.
