Joe was a retired engine mechanic with General Electric and a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife Georgia, of California City; daughter Sherry Smith of Lancaster, CA; sons, Curtis of Palmdale, CA, Brian of Bishop, CA; brother, Robert of Kentucky; and grandchildren, Tiffany, Danielle and Sammi Jo Smith, Tori, Tawni, Nathan and Brianna Coakley. \ Memorial services were held on February 16, 1999, at Halley-Olsen-l Chapel, Lancaster. Arrangements by Halley-Olsen Funeral ChapeL, Lancaster, CA. Joe touched the hearts of all who' knew him and will be greatly missed. by all.
