Source Unknown; 11 Jul 1957 Non Collision Wreck Kills Two Men Two Boron residents, Homer Bud Cooper and Wallace Daniel: were killed Saturday morning at 1:45 p.m. on Highway 466, four miles east of Boron when their car left the road, hit the Santa Fe Tracks, broke off a telephone pole and tore its way 1500 feet into the desert. Thurston Cooper, a brother of Bud lies in Mojave Hospital, critically injured but improving. No visitors allowed. The men were reportedly on their way to a fishing trip when the accident occurred. Bud Cooper was in the generall contracting business and Daniel was his foreman.
