All persons donating to this site retain the rights to their own work. Mojave Desert News; 19 Sep 1996 Irene Darr, Boron resident, passed away at home on September 3. Funeral services were held on September 14 in the Mojave Catholic Church and interment was in the East Kern Cemetery in Mojave. She is survived by husband James of Boron; her son Jed of Glendale, Arizona; mother Lucille Brummett of North Edwards; brother William Brummett of McLean, Virginia; sisters Debbie Richmond of St. George, Utah, Ann Pollock of Sweet Home, - Oregon; niece Wendy Looney and nephew Kevin Jeffers. Irene was born in Bakersfield, California but has lived most of her life in North Edwards and Boron. Mrs. Darr was a heavy equipment operator at U.S. Borax in Boron for the past four years. Recently she was elected National vice president of the Women in Mining Educational Foundation. Prior to her working at U.S. Borax Irene had been associated with Darr/Pitcairn Agriculture/Kramer Services for many years. Memorial donations may be sent to the Irene Darr Memorial Fund, c/o Boron Chamber of Commerce. The donations will be used for an "Irene Darr Memorial" at the Twenty Mule Team Museum in Boron.
