Mojave Desert News; 2 May 1996 William Harley "Bill" Davis, Jr., 68, of North Edwards, passed away on April 26, 1996, in Lancaster. Bill was born in Apache, Oklahoma on March 22, 1928. He retired in 1985 from Muroc Unified School District after 28 years of service. A veteran of the Korean War, he was also a member of the Lions Intl. Club, Boron Senior Citizens and A.A.R.P. Bill is mourned by .his loving wife of 39 years, Norma Jean Davis; by their beloved daughter Nancy Diane Richardson and her husband George Edward Richardson, Jr.; by their three grandchildren, Bryan, Summer and Michael, all of North Edwards and by many in-laws and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Harley and Sara Emma Davis and by his only brother, Paul Eugene. Viewing was Tuesday, April 30, at Stickel Mortuary Chapel, Mojave from 4 to 6 p.m. with graveside services on May 1 at East Kern Cemetery in Mojave beginning at 10 a.m. A long time friend, Larry Smith, pastor at Centinela Baptist Church in Lawndale, will officiate at the services which are under the direction of Stickel Mortuary.
