Source Unknown; Date Unknown Nov. 19, 1916 – Jan. 13, 2005 A longtime Tehachapi resident, Juanita DeWitt (Eyhegaray), passed away in the comfort of her daughter’s home on Jan. 13. She had been battling with Alzheimer’s for the past several years. Juanita was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Bakersfield and lived in Tehachapi more than 40 years. She retired as a county court clerk, was a member of the Eastern Stars, played the piano in many community events, taught musical kindergarten and gave piano lessons for many years. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her kind words. A memorial service for Juanita will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bakersfield on Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. Survivors include her two daughters, Janet Maness from Lancaster and Pat Goodspeed from Renton, Wash.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
