Source Unknown; Date Unknown Kenny Durst Musician, native of Spokane, WA Kenny "Bubba" Durst, 39, of Murphy, North Carolina, died Friday, October 24, 1997, in a Canton, GA medical center. A native of Spokane, WA, he had lived most of his life in California City, C A, before moving to Cherokee County in 1996. He was the son of William L. and Joyce D. Ream Durst of California City. He was a driver for Roger Charles of Charles Ready Mix. He was a member of the Living Waters Worship Center. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing. He started at the age of 6 playing all over California. At one time, he had his own band. Kenny was also a member of the VFW , Moose Lodge and various organizations. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Dianna L. Gallagher Durst; a son, Joshua L. Durst of the home; two stepsons, Dane and Chad Coleman, both of Naples, FL; a sister, Sherry Bivens of Lancaster, CA; and 5 nieces and 4nephews. Services were held in Murphy, North Carolina.
