Dykes, Machinist Mate 3rd Class, U.S.N., of Mojave, who was killed in action during the invasion of Leyte on Octobcr 19, 1944, and whose body was returned to Mojave last Thursday was buried in Mojave cemetery from the Assembly of God Church on Saturday, April 23 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Throne from Lancaster with graveside services performed by the American Legion Post No. 358 of Mojave with full military honors. Surviving him are his parents Mr. and Mrs. Alvio R. Dykes, two brothers, Lloyd L. of Mojave and Claude of Boron, three sisters, Fannie Rex of Woodlake, Calif., Mary Collins of Mojave, and Ethel Yetter of Ridgecrest. Hosts of friends and other relatives were in attendance and the family wishes to express their appreciation for the many flowers and kindnesses extended to them. .
