He originally was from Cambridge, Mass., and bought his home in California City in 1980. He was a Korean veteran. For nine years he was an active member of The California City Friends of the Library where he served as treasurer for four years. Being a member of the Community Church of California City he enjoyed his time as Lay Reader and usher. He mastered the art of model plane and ship building. He also spent much of this time with helping foundations for domestic and large endangered felines. He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Madge; son, Bruce Stanley, daughter-in-law, Jenny Adams; and grandchildren, Brian and Rachael. With our special thanks, the family of R. Bruce Elwell wishes to express their gratitude to the overwhelming response of his friends and acquaintances who honored his memory by attending his memorial. A very special expression of gratitude goes to Rev. Sparks and the Fuller family for their complete support at such a difficult time. The prayers, remembrances, flowers and the tremendous food provided by the ladies of our church was much appreciated. Our thankful hearts also to those who made charitable contributions NOTE: Photo At: http://www.calarchives4u.com/photos/kern/
