Source Unknown; Date Unknown George Robert Fairchild, known to his family and friends as "Bob", passed away Thursday, July 23, 1998 at AV Hospital in Lancaster. He was born May 13, 1926 in American Falls, Idaho. He moved with his family to California in 1943. Bob served in the United States Navy during WWII. After his military tour, Bob joined his father, brothers, and sisters in Boron .where he made his home with his own family since 1963. Bob worked for US Borax for nearly 44 years. He was a member of VFW Post 6313, American Legion Post 636, Boron Masonic Lodge, and past patron of the Boron Order of the Eastern Star. Bob is survived by his wife Donna, son Scott and daughter-in-law Holly, daughter Kirn, two grandchildren (Brandee and Michael), two brothers (Clayton and Smith) and numerous friends. A memorial service was held for Bob on Saturday, July 25, 1998 at the Boron Masonic Lodge. Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
