Mojave Desert News; 17 Mar 2005 Michael Dean Hamilton, a.k.a. “The Worm,” passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2005, at 1:22 in the afternoon at the age of 64. Michael was born May 1, 1940 to the late Glenn and Dorris Hamilton. He was the second oldest of ten children. Born in Colton, California Michael moved to Mojave at 12 and lived the first part of his life there, where he met and married his now ex-wife Debbie Hamilton. Together they had three daughters. After beginning to work for the Department of Water and Power in 1969, he was later relocated to Independence, California. He lived there until he retired in 1998. After traveling and fishing for the first few years of his retirement, he settled back near his hometown in California City, California. Michael was preceded in death by his Father, Glenn Hamilton, Mother Dorris Hamilton, older brother Butch Hamilton and younger Brothers Ricky and Joey Hamilton. Michael is continually loved by and leaves behind, eldest daughter Krista Evangelist, son-in-law Jake Evangelist, grandson Carson Evangelist, second eldest daughter Julie Hamilton and loved one David Levy, youngest daughter Karie Ferriera, son-in-law Tommy Ferriera, Jr., grandson Cory Ferriera, granddaughter Katelyn Ferriera, and 6 remaining brothers and sisters, Judy Flowers, Jimmy Hamilton, Stephen Hamilton, Pat Hamilton, Randy Hamilton and Laurie Simpson, as well as his brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends. A memorial service was held Wednesday March 16, 2005 at the Elks Lodge, 16200 K Street, Mojave, California. As the words “Never You Mind” will forever be remembered, we will love and miss you.
