Mojave Desert News; 7 Jul 1949 Loved Rosamond Man Passes On William Bedford Hammett, familiarly known to Rosamond folk, as "Uncle Bill" passed on last Saturday morning, July 2, at 9:30 at his home, 3rd and Town Ave., Rosamond. He had suffered a stroke earlier in the week. Born in Austin, Tex., March 2, 1878, he leaves his wife, Della, a sister, Mrs. Sarah Hill, a nephew Jay B.. Johnston and a niece, Mrs. Betty Sheldon all of Rosamond. Funeral ,services were held on Wednesday, July 6 at 4 p.m. at the O'Donnell Funeral Home in Mojave with the Rev. Wm. Hedgpeth officiating. Interment was in the Mojave Cemetery
