Services were held at Greenlawn Southwest 
Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Lane in 
Bakersfield on Thursday, June 3 for Aurelius 
Deporres Harris, 52, who passed away May 29 in 
a Bakersfield hospital.
Aurelius was born Dec. 10, 1951 in Newport 
News, Va., and resided in Kern County for 15 
years. He was veteran of the U. S. Marine Corp 
and the U. S. Army. He was employed with the 
Department of Defense for 30 years. He was 
preceded in death by his mother, Henrietta; and 
brother, Anthony. Aurelius is survived by his 
wife, Emma Tipanero Harris; stepson, Romeo 
Tipanero and wife, Marites; grandchildren, Romy 
and Emily; father, Solomon F. Harris; sisters, 
Cheryl Daniel, Sheila Magee; Maria Scott and 
Patricia Curley; brothers, Solomon, Joseph, 
Patrick, Mark, Michael, Ronnie and Timothy 
Harris.
