David Jacob Hartz passed away on September 26, 1998, in Boron, California. He was 
born in Cavalier North Dakota on June 17, 1917. He served in the United States Army 
fighting in Normandy, Rhineland Northern France and Central Europe. He was awarded 
the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Purple Heart.
Hartz is survived by his wife, Thalma; daughter, Louise Hollingsworth; son, Gerald Hartz; 
four sisters and three grandchildren.
Services were held on Wednesday, October 2, 1998 at Joshua Memorial Park & 
Mortuary. Interment followed at Joshua.
