Imogene "Jean" Hawkins was born on March 21, 1923 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas and passed 
away on August 1, 2004 in Yucaipa, California. She resided in Mojave from 1957 until 
2003 and was a member of the Mojave Assembly of God church from 1958 until 2003 
and was owner and operator of Burger In – Mojave.  
She was predeceased by her husband Ross "Leon" Hawkins whom she married in 1941, 
daughter Barbara Cook, parents, Ernest and Ida Johnson, sisters, Agnes Hedrick and 
Janet Higgins, brothers, Earl and Kenneth Johnson.  
She is survived by her daughters, Betty (Ron) Rivero and Janelle Hawkins, 
grandchildren, Kristi Mudge, Royal (Becky) Cook, Tracey (Craig) O'Neil; great-
grandchildren, Shane, Jacob and Cameron Mudge, Vincent and Dylan Zielen, Brooke 
Giebeler, Aliya Cook, great-grandchildren-in-law, Conner and Lauren O'Neil; sister 
Jewel Troughton and many nieces and nephews. 
Services will be held on August 7, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church 
in Mojave. Officiating will be Marilyn Skelton, Pastor Mike Owen and Rev. Jack Wright. 
Burial will take place at Mojave Cemetery. 
Arrangements by Stickel Mortuary, Mojave.
