Arthur Creed Helton, 87, born in Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 25 in Portersville, 
California. He was a resident of California City where he Pastored the First Baptist Church for 55 
years before moving to Springville, California where he became a member of First Southern Baptist 
Church in Portersville. Arthur's wife, Erma Francis Helton preceded in him death in 1989.
Services were held Friday, September 1, at 9:30 a.m. in Myers Chapel in Portersville, California, 
conducted by Dr. Michael Bradley of the First Baptist Church in Portersville, California. The 
burial site is at the Lancaster Cemetery, in Lancaster, California.
Arthur leaves to mourn: two daughters, Elgiva Brown, of Springville, CA; Yvonne Helton of 
Hong Kong, China; a son, David Helton of Chadron, NE; three brothers, Martin Helton of Mojave 
Valley, AZ; Elza Lee Helton, of Florida; and Garland Helton, Missouri; one sister Geraldine Long 
of Trenton, Missouri; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, 
relatives and friends.
