Source Unknown; 13 Mar 1952 Accidents Kill One, Injure 3 On Icy Road Charlie James Herdon, 22, of417 K Street, Mojave, was fatally injured Wednesday morning, when his car sideswiped a butane truck in front of the Monolith Portland Cement plant on Hwy 466. Herdon was thrown out of his car by the impact, and died of skull injuries. Herdon lived with his mother, Mrs. Grace Cross, and had been employed by the Southern Pacific Co., as a baggage clerk since last fall. Survivors include his mother, who was visiting in Lawton, Okla. at the time of the accident, a sister, Mrs. Helen Tugman of Tehachapi, and a sister, Mrs. Gersy, of New Haven, Connecticut. O'Donnell Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements which are pending.
