Source Unknown; Date Unknown Memorial service for 'Maggie' Flores Hernandez MOJAVE — Memorial services for Margaret "Maggie" Flores will be held Saturday, October 7, at noon in the chapel at Stickel Mortuary in Mojave. A former resident of Mojave who attended local schools, Mrs. Hernandez passed away August 27 in Temecula. Services held for 'Maggie Flores Hemandez Grew up and attended schools in Mojave. MOJAVE — A memorial service was held in Temecula September 1, for Margaret Ellen Flores Hemandez, known to all who knew her as "Maggie." Maggie was born to Jesus and Magdalena Flores on March 18, 1935 in Los Angeles. She passed away August 27, in Temecula after a fall caused by many years of illness. Maggie grew up in Mojave and attended Mojave Elementary School and graduated from Antelope Valley High School in Lancaster in 1953. She was a popular student at both schools. Maggie married Simon Hernandez, who was stationed at the Mojave Marine Corps Auxiliary Air Station, in 1955. The couple made their home in Mojave until 1955 when employment opportunities took them to Burbank. While living in Mojave, Maggie was active in the PTA and Brownies. She loved Mojave very much and closely followed what was going on. In 1987, Maggie moved to Temecula to be closer to her daughters. She is survived by her children, Renita Rodriguez of Sylmar, Anita Washington of Temecula, Simon Hernandez of Boston, Massachusetts, and Anhanette Ketterer of Murietta. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lucy and John Guy of Mojave, and eight grandchildren, along with numerous nephews and nieces.
