Thomas John Hoffman, a resident of Mojave, Californfa for 21 years and a Kern County 
fire fighter, passed away on August 25, 2001. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran with the 
First Infantry Division.
Thomas was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on March 27, 2001. Survivors include his 
loving wife of 26 years, Justa Hoffman of Mojave, daughters, Teresa Hoffman of San Luis 
Obispo, California, Janette Hoffman of Mojave; sons Thomas Hoffman Jr. and Erik 
Hoffman, both of Mojave and one grandchild.
Memorial services were held by Frs. Craig Harrison and John Gracy on August 28, 
2001 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in California City, California and burial 
East Kern Cemetery, Mojave.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Thomas Hoffman Jr. 
Memorial Fund established at Mojave Desert Bank in Mojave.
